About the “First Mondays” Reading Series at Performance Space New York

Performance Space New York’s The “First Mondays: Readings of New Works in Progress” series continues this fall.

Here’s what to expect from the series, hosted by writer and historian Sarah Schulman, on Monday, November 7 and Monday, December 5:

On November 7, at an event Schulman dubbed “House Favorites,” First Mondays presents what Schulman describes as “a literary cornucopia of writers, for readers who love writers.” Among them, Rabih Alameddine, winner of the Lambda Literary Prize and the Arab American Book Prize … the poet and former director of the Asian American Writers’ Workshop Ken Chen … and the experimental poet, prose writer and scholar of pedagogy critic and queer theory Sara Jane Stoner…

And on December 5…

In an ongoing commitment to showcasing Performance Space alumni, First Mondays offers an evening of new work in progress from Chris Cochrane – an innovator of new improvisational music and co-creator of THEM with Ishmael Houston-Jones and Dennis Cooper – with his collaborators Viv Corringham and Miguel Frasconi.

“First Mondays” readings begin at 7 p.m. (a live stream option is also available). Events are free with RSVP…what you can do here Where here.

Readings are held at Open Room, Performance Space New York, 150 First Ave. (at Ninth Street), 4th floor.
