“Our Town” featuring oils by artist member Sally Richmond and photography by her son Sasha Richmond

This exhibition presents a mother/son collaboration. Sally Richmond was born in Montreal, Quebec. She has a strong faith and feels that her faith has deepened her appreciation of the people, places and things around her. The beauty of the places where she lived had a strong impact on her work. His work is influenced and representative of the Impressionist school.

Sasha is a junior at Estes Park High School. He has loved computers, photography and cinema since a young age, always opting for courses on these subjects at school. He enjoys photographing nature, cars and his friends. He hopes to be able to help with the high school yearbook next year.

Founding Artist Leo Weber

A few thoughts… When Chris Switzer first asked me to be a founding member of the Art Center, I was both thrilled and scared. Chris and Lynda Vogel had a vision for visual arts at Estes and I was honored to be invited to be part of this adventure. years.

As the first Chair of the Board, I had the opportunity to work with many wonderful people who cared deeply about the arts. A first memory was of working with Dan Wheeler (owner) when we undertook the large back porch. He was kind enough to accept my suggestion to install plywood before putting drywall in the space so that we have better anchoring opportunities for the hanging art. It was a pleasure to work with Dan and a big supporter of our dream.

Looking back over the years, I’m so grateful to all the wonderfully dedicated people who still make the Art Center what it is…fantastic. Every time I go to the Art Center, I come out inspired and I want to go back to my studio and create magic.

happy 35th birthday
