QUINCY – The Quincy Art Center’s annual ArtFest will take place from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, September 17 at the Art Center, 1515 Jersey. Free entry.
Find out about the programming offered by the Center d’art. Free and inexpensive hands-on activities can be enjoyed by anyone of any age. Activities consist of wheel toss, sidewalk chalk, scratch art, rock painting, sightless drawing, and a scavenger hunt.
The budding artist will be there with a pottery painting project. The Quincy Public Library, Quincy Community Theater, Quincy Children’s Museum, Lorenzo Bull House, and Arts Quincy will also be at ArtFest with free activities. The Square Peg Group troupe will be there as costumed works of art.
Local musician Kathy Brink will perform and KICK-FM will broadcast from the event.
The Art Center will present two exhibitions during the event. “The Forest Within” by Carlos Zamora will be exhibited at the Sinnock Gallery, and the 13th annual members exhibition will be presented at the Stevenson Gallery. Zamora will be at the Center d’Art to talk about his work.
Local businesses and individual donors have helped reduce the cost of many activities. Local artists to share their passion for the arts by organizing several demonstrations and hands-on experiences.
