Area residents and community members are invited to participate in conversations about the Central Oregon Center for the Arts project. The conversations will take place at three public meetings at the Coats Campus Center, 2600 NW College Way, Bend.
Tuesday May 3 – Arts and Culture Groups and Individuals from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday, May 4 – Business and Real Estate Leaders from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Thursday, May 5 – Community at Large from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The topic of the conversations will be a study, currently underway, designed to explore the possibilities of building and operating a performing and visual arts center in central Oregon that will meet the diverse cultural needs of the center of Oregon through performing, music, fine arts and education in the Tri-County area to support and grow arts and culture.
Dubbed a “discovery study,” it is being conducted by the Arts Consulting Group, a national firm with offices in Portland. It will draw on input from central Oregon’s arts communities, residents, and thought leaders. Public meetings will be moderated by members of the CAG team.
Questions to be answered by the study include the shape and size of the proposed arts centre; where it might be best located; how could this be funded; how it can meet the needs of all residents of the region; and more.
The Arts Consulting Group has developed an online community engagement survey to gather feedback and ideas. Click here to participate in the survey. The deadline for the survey is May 8.
Participation is free, but registration is compulsory. To register for the event, please visit: www.cocarts.org.
