A fundraising concert at the Langley Estate in White Hills will support local performing arts projects next year. The concert will take place on Saturday, December 4 from 3 p.m. and the Ulumbara Foundation event will raise funds for the Power-Up Grant 2022 program. Since its launch four years ago, the grant program has provided nearly $50,000 to Bendigo-based arts projects. Read more: Ulumbara Foundation CEO David Stretch says it’s exciting to be able to hold live events again. “The event at Langley Estate over the weekend is not only lucky because we can come together at something like this, but it’s also a great fundraiser for an important cause,” he said. he declares. “(The Power-Up Grants) give the Ulumbara Foundation the ability to increase the level of disbursement and grants to the performing arts community.” Mr Stretch said creatives had been busy during the pandemic, with this year’s grant program attracting six applications. “We do two funding rounds each year and are already interested in the 2022 rounds,” he said. “We know that there are more and more local arts organizations looking for more support and (the grant program) aims to support new initiatives and increase the capacity of those projects.” Husband and wife duo Slava and Sharon Grigoryan will perform at the Langley Estate Chapel, which was recently converted into a performance hall. “Slava is one of the finest classical guitarists in the country and his wife is a cellist of great repute,” Mr. Stretch said. “Together they perform an interesting repertoire of modern and classic numbers. “It will be an intimate show limited to 80 people. “This is the first performance at the Langley Estate who have converted and refurbished the chapel and are looking to hold regular events there.” For more information or to book tickets, visit the Ulumbara Foundation website.
